How can textiles express the contrast between a social shell and inner fragility?

Starting point
The project began with a passage from Huysmans’ À Rebours, in which the protagonist escapes the malaise of social pressure by taking refuge in the world of perfume.
I transposed it to our own society, where everything hinges on appearance and image.
Silhouette
A fluid, sheer shirt — the sincere feelings we carry — is worn beneath a thick, structured jacket that stands for both protection and a false exterior.
Openings in the jacket let the sleeves of the shirt spill out, like drifting scents, like an overflowing emotion.

I carried out textile research around emanation: fine, delicate, sheer and supple fabrics.
The garment
From pattern-making to sewing, I built a fluid, sheer shirt, then an ensemble of trousers and a thick, structured jacket.
